General Information
"Storm" Registered Thoroughbred Colt Y20 Born Gray (Black-Base) 16hh |
Arctic Storm earned his name for two reasons - the first being tied into his parents, and the second being that is he is one big ball of energy. Being a young colt, Storm loves to show off and will sometimes act up but overall he is relatively easy to handle. One quick correction and he has all four feet back on the ground. Unlike his parents, Storm isn't afraid to express his emotions through body language, the most common reaction being a nasty side eye if you're late with his dinner, or his infamous puppy dog, begging for cuddles kind of look that comes out when he's being a real suck. One good thing about Storm is that he takes nothing seriously but his job. He's a very fun horse to be around, but you've got to be watchful that he doesn't try to wear you like a backpack when he gets worked up. Storm does like to strike out in excitement, but if distracted by a crinkle of a candy wrapper, he'll instantly settle. Storm is also a very high maintenance child; he needs a bath right away after coming in off the track otherwise he'll turn into a cranky pants (this is were his side eye comes). Storm is also a very picky eater, somewhat surprising as he's very food motivated. He will only eat if his feed is soaked, but don't you dare give it to him cold because he will hold a grudge for a couple of days - good luck catching him in turnout if you were the one to prepare his feed! Storm is extremely smart and tactical, so this colt isn't one you want to be on his bad side for.

Racing InformationYou'd think Storm would be hot as hell in the paddock, but he manages to keep his composure with all four hooves on the ground. Unlike his dam side, Storm could care less about the distraction around him as long as he's left alone with his humans giving him his pre-race stretch. Storm likes to bother the lead pony during post parade and have a little bit of fun on his way to the gates. As usual, he is a bugger to get in the gates because he's stubborn, not because he hates the things. He'd rather do it on his own terms, which ends up making him the last to load. Storm is like a rocket launcher out of the gates and immediately sticks to the front. If he's not the only leader from the get go, he'll make sure to set a blistering pace before letting one other horse overtake him. Storm loves to go the distance and doesn't really expend any of his energy until the last few furlongs. He's sneaky and makes sure to lengthen his stride inch by inch, until his grey tail is blinding the field behind him.
