General Information
"Del" Registered Thoroughbred Filly Y20 Born Bay 16.1hh |
We had hoped that when we named this filly Delirious that she wouldn't live up to her name, but she has turned out to be a certified psycho. Del is the perfect blend of her sire and dam - high maintenance as all hell and also isn't afraid to pick fights with every horse that inconveniences her in the slightest. This filly makes her presence known regardless of the situation, whether it be showing her displeasure of the farrier (flying legs everywhere), being a show off in front of the boys, or just demanding attention. It's not like she's totally mean about the way she acts - she just has to exaggerate everything, because that's just what a high maintenance chic does. A favourite treat of Del's is a nice cold beer at feed time (or even any time) because she'll be sure to down that in less than 15 seconds and will turn into your best friend. This makes taking her for a walk (instead of a flight) easier and a lot more relaxing for both horse & handler. Just make sure to keep her away from ponies, otherwise you'll be trying to stop a fight!

Racing InformationDelirious can be a little bit of a maniac on the track, and can't be paraded with a track horse because she's a biter. She has a habit of chewing the bit a little too enthusiastically, so she does best warming up alone. She's not the easiest loader for the gate handlers and often has to be the last to load, but once she's out on the track there's only one thing on her mind. Del prefers to run off the rail, closer to the centre of the track. This makes it easier for her to pull her signature Del move off of the final turn, where you'll find her edging past her competition one by one.
